I graduated in 1989. I worked as hospital doctor gaining a broad base of medical and surgical experience. During these 5 years I completed my basic surgical training. Then after a brief excursion to get my General Practice Primary Exam I returned to complete my Diploma in Obstetrics. This gave an excellent foundation to launch a career in General practice in 1995. 

I now have more than 12 years General Practice experience which includes six and half years in an established Group practice on the Hibiscus Coast: “Family Doctors”.

After leaving the Hibiscus Coast in December 2002 I returned to Auckland and North Shore Hospitals to refresh my surgical skills as a surgical trainee for a year before I joined the CityMED team in December 2003. I have been a director at CityMED since April 2005.
My special interests include surgical procedures under local anaesthetic.  I work alongside Dr Young in the CityMED Minor Surgery Clinic. I still visit the Coast Care Red Beach Clinic once a month on a Friday afternoon to do a vasectomy and minor surgical clinic.

Skin lumps and skin cancer surgery
Ingrown Toenails
Vasectomy Non scalpel technique
Umbilical Hernia Repair
Inguinal Hernia Repair – Open Mesh technique.

My other interests include family medicine, including paediatrics and preventative medicine, this includes Men’s and Women’s Health. I also enjoy helping out with CityMed’s Accident and Medical Clinic. I also do New Zealand Immigration Medicals.
