We hope you are all well and enjoying the benefits of Alert Level 1. We have done really well in New Zealand to get ourselves to this point, but ongoing vigilance is very important.

With this in mind, we are still be running green (no cold/flu symptoms) and red (cold and flu symptoms) streams within the practice. You will be asked COVID19 screening questions when you book your appointment- on line, by phone and again when you arrive for your appointment. Please answer these questions as honestly as you can. This protects our staff, you, and other patients in the clinic.

Many of our patients have found the option of phone and video consultations useful so we are going to continue offering these permanently. They work particularly well for cases where your problems do not require a physical examination. If you are not sure, please phone our nursing team for advice.

Red stream is for anyone with ANY cold or flu symptoms - even if they are mild, and even if they are not the main reason for you wanting a consultation with the doctor or nurse. These consultations will be done by phone or video in the first instance and, if an examination or a COVID-19 swab is needed, we will then book you into our Mills Lane drive through swabbing clinic held in the afternoon. We have a portable cabin on our two surgical car parks in Mills Lane. If treatment is required, we also have isolation rooms which are only accessed through the rear entrance of our clinic.

Please be aware that despite the Ministry of Health stating that there are no costs for all COVID related consultations, unfortunately this is not the case at CityMed. For a full explanation of what you will be charged a small co-payment fee please follow this link  http://www.citymed.co.nz/index.php?p=notices/corona-virus-all-you-need-to-know

Repeat Prescriptions - We have now got a direct-to-pharmacy, electronic prescription service working well, so prescriptions no longer need to be faxed, posted, or collected from us. When requesting a repeat prescription please provide the full name and address of the pharmacy.

Flu Vaccinations -  If you have had a flu vaccine in the past, with no complications, we will only ask you to wait for 5 minutes after your vaccine. If this is your first time ever having the vaccine, we will ask you to wait 20 minutes. The risks of complications are very rare, but we prefer to be cautious.  Please phone our reception on 09 377 5525 to book an appointment for your vaccine.

We are working hard to catch up on recalls and reviews that had to be deferred over the last few months. Please do not put off getting in contact with us. We do not want small problems growing into larger problems.

He waka eke noa.

We are all in this together.

Your CityMed Team
