COVID 19 INFORMATION

ALERT LEVEL 1 UPDATE

** All patients attending the practice are required to wear a mask or suitable face covering **

October 13th 2020

We have finally made it back to alert level 1!

We are continuing to run separate green (no cold/flu symptoms) and red (cold and flu symptoms) streams within the practice. You will be asked COVID19 screening questions when you book your appointment on line, by phone and again when you arrive for your appointment. Please answer these questions as honestly as you can. This protects our staff, you, and other patients in the clinic. Please note anyone attending our practice in person will be required to wear a mask or suitable face covering while on the premises. If you do not have a mask you will be asked to pop into our pharmacy next door where you can purchase a mask.

Please also use the QR codes we have displayed for contact tracing purposes.

Many of our patients have found the option of phone and video consultations useful so we are going to continue offering these permanently. They work particularly well for problems that do not require a physical examination. If you are not sure, please phone our nursing team for advice.

Red stream is for anyone with ANY cold or flu symptoms - even if they are mild, and even if they are not the main reason for you wanting a consultation with the doctor or nurse. These consultations will be done by phone or video in the first instance and, if an examination or a COVID-19 swab is needed, we will then book you into our Mills Lane drive through swabbing clinic held in the afternoons.  If the consultation with your doctor is primarily covid related then there is a part charge of $30 as the current funding provided by the DHBs does not cover our costs. The swab, if required, is fully funded. If the consultation is not primarily covid related then normal fees will apply.

If you need a covid-19 swab and don’t require medical attention or advice for your symptoms then you can be booked into the nurse swabbing clinic directly by phoning reception on 377 5525. This service is currently fully funded but this may change if the DHBs reduce funding further.

For a full explanation of why you may be charged a small co-payment fee please follow this link  http://www.citymed.co.nz/index.php?p=notices/corona-virus-all-you-need-to-know

Repeat Prescriptions - We have now got a direct-to-pharmacy, electronic prescription service working well, so prescriptions will no longer need to be faxed, posted, or collected from us. When requesting a repeat prescription please provide the full name and address of the pharmacy.

We are working hard to catch up on recalls and reviews that had to be deferred over the last few months. Please do not put off getting in contact with us. We do not want small problems growing into larger problems.

He waka eke noa.

We are all in this together.
